‘Funny Or Die’ biopic drops jaws: You can’t even recognize the wildly famous actor playing Trump

Released to coincide with Donald Trump‘s huge victory on Tuesday in the New Hampshire Republican presidential primary, the humor website Funny or Die produced a comedy about the GOP front-runner.

And you’d never guess in a million years who stars as Trump.

It’s not the role of a lifetime, but the central character in the quirky film “Funny or Die Presents Donald Trump’s The Art of the Deal: The Movie” is played by none other than the swashbuckling Johnny Depp.

Joining Depp in skewering Trump’s 1987 book are Alfred Molina, Stephen Merchant, Patton Oswalt, Jack McBrayer, Andy Richter, Michaela Watkins, Paul Scheer and Rob Huebel.

Alf even makes a cameo appearance.

“It was a crazy, completely nuts idea that somehow we pulled off,” Funny or Die co-founder Adam McKay told The New York Times, before adding that “with any luck” the project will annoy Trump.

“Donald Trump has it all,” a description of the 50-minute film reads on the Funny or Die website. “Money, power, respect, and an Eastern European bride.”

“But all his success didn’t come for nothing,” it continues. “First, he inherited millions of dollars from his rich father, then he grabbed New York City by the balls. Now you can learn the art of negotiation, real estate, and high-quality brass in this illuminating made-for-TV special feature.”

The movie is portrayed as if made in the 1980s and includes an original theme song written by Kenny Loggins in support of that motif.

A trailer of the film can be seen here.
