After wandering onto a frozen pond, the dog became stranded and witnesses called for help. Two deputies arrived and quickly realized more assistance would be needed. The dog could be seen submerged in the shallow yet freezing waters from a crack in the ice.
Firefighters used a ladder to lay across the ice to reach the pooch. Crawling across the frozen pond, rescuer Aaron Lovell fell through the thin ice, but was able to reach the dog and be pulled back onto shore by other firefighters. Luckily, Lovell had on a special suit for such icy rescues.
Tucker the dog was taken to the vet and the Sheriff’s Facebook page reported that he has been reunited with his owner and has fully recovered.
