Michelle Obama gives media advice to next ‘first spouse’ – and tips her hand a bit

As America begins the countdown of President Barack Obama’s final year in office, First Lady Michelle Obama may have tipped her hand on who she thinks will replace her husband — and herself.

Speaking in New York City on Tuesday, Mrs. Obama suggested the next first lady may very well be a “first spouse.”

“I’m pretty sure that the next administration — the next first spouse — if they want to be effective in communicating their message… Oh, you caught that?” Obama said, according to ABC News. “I’m just being neutral because the world is big and interesting.”

That certainly sounds like an endorsement of Hillary Clinton.

“But the next first spouse is going to have to figure out how to connect with the audiences they’re trying to connect with and who knows what the platform will be in the years to come,” she added.

Of course, if Hillary is elected president, husband Bill Clinton returns to the White House as “first dude,” although you can never tell if Mrs. Obama is just looking for an excuse to push a gender-neutral term in deference to the gender identity crisis many struggle with today.

Obama was participating in a Media With Purpose panel, where the discussion centered on promoting social causes — what else, right?
