What Kate Winslet admits about Jack’s Titanic death, after 20 years of accusations from fans

Jack Dawson didn’t have to die!

TitanicThat was the revelation unveiled by actress Kate Winslet, who played Rose DeWitt Bukater to Leonardo DiCaprio’s Dawson in the 1997 smash hit “Titanic,” Tuesday on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

For 19 years, fans of the blockbuster classic have argued that the life saving makeshift raft that allowed Rose to survive was big enough for Jack to have fit on and survive as well.

Instead, Jack died while hanging on the edge of the raft and mostly submerged in the icy water.

“I think he could have actually fit on that bit of door,” the actress told Kimmel.

“There was plenty of room on the raft!” Kimmel exclaimed.

“I know, I know,” Winslett replied.
