Backlash over ‘atrocious’ NY Daily News Trump cover day after caucus

The New York Daily News is up to its old antics.

The day after the Iowa caucus, which saw former front-runner Donald Trump finish second to Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, and Sen. Marco Rubio snagging a shockingly close third, the News just couldn’t wait to rub it in.

DEAD CLOWN WALKING” the headline blared with the billionaire businessman covered in clown makeup.

The article refers to Trump as a “bombastic bozo” and a “big, sad joke.”

This, of course, is far from the first time the News has poked fun at a Republican, or at conservatives in general…

There was the time when the paper referred to the National Rifle Association’s Wayne LaPierre as a jihadist.

The cover that mocked people who prayed for the victims of mass shootings.

Or when it called out white terrorists after the San Bernardino shooting, not once, but twice.

Which was followed by an insinuation that one of the Christian victims of the attack deserved it.

And the issue that attacked Ted Cruz for mocking New York values — and wound up proving his point.

Still, this latest stunt drew a lot of criticism from social media.
