If anyone knows not to trust the media, it should be Sarah Palin.
On the other hand, the former Alaska governor proved on Monday that she has grown a lot since the 2008 presidential campaign and is not afraid to push back when treated poorly by the media.
To campaign for Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump just ahead of the Iowa caucus, Palin appeared on NBC’s “Today” to discuss the race when co-anchor Savannah Guthrie blindsided her with a question about her son’s recent arrest on domestic violence charges.
An annoyed Palin unleashed on Guthrie and anchor Matt Lauer before denying she blamed President Obama for veterans suffering from post traumatic stress disorder — Palin’s son served in Iraq.
“You guys brought me to talk about Iowa politics and the caucus tonight, not to talk about my kids — and that was a promise,” she complained. “But as things go in the world of media, you guys don’t always keep your promises, evidently.”
Lauer would later deny that any promises where made to Palin.
“There were no specific promises made about content of the interview, only that this would be your first interview since you endorsed Donald Trump,” he said to the former vice presidential candidate.
“I was told this interview was about the caucus tonight in Iowa,” Palin insisted.
