The Council on American-Islamic Relations and mainstream media have again attacked Donald Trump, but this time they appear to have it all wrong.
The Republican presidential front-runner was talking about one of his favorite topics, Sen. Ted Cruz, in Iowa on Sunday when two protesters interrupted him.
The men, one of whom happened to be wearing a red turban, unfurled a banner that read “Stop Hate” before they were quickly led out of the building as the crowd cheered.
Trump then asked the crowd: “He wasn’t wearing one of those hats was he?”
That comment was jumped on by Trump haters as if he was mocking the turban.
But as the video below clearly shows, Trump was pointing to the crowd when he made the remark and was likely referring to the red “Make America Great Again” hats.

That was further evidenced when he said, “And he never will, and that’s OK.”
Unfortunately, and not surprisingly, Trump was attacked on social media by those who either didn’t watch the video or intentionally twisted his words.

@CAIRNational …except NO, Trump wasn’t. He was asking about his own logo hat. FFS, stop reaching for faux outrage. Lying bastards.

@CAIRNational And you got it wrong after fact checking. What a surprise.

Clearly he’s referring to the “America Great” hat he is pointing at. Plenty legit stuff to use against him; why make crap up @CAIRNational?

@WCVB Gets the story wrong. Are you going to fix your error? Trump was commenting the protester was not wearing a Trump Hat.

@WCVB False story. Please retract and issue an apology.

@WCVB 1. Your story is 100% false; 2. Even if he had called a turban a hat (which he didn’t), who is that “mocking”? #JournalismIsDead
