Actor Kevin Spacey shared his take on the 2016 presidential election, which he referred to as if it were a TV program, during an interview Thursday with CNBC Europe, saying the race for the White House is “a laugh a minute.”
“It is an extremely entertaining program,” Spacey said. “I look forward to it every night.”
The “House of Cards” star was asked what might happen if Republican front-runner Donald Trump ever had to debate Frank Underwood, the character he plays on the hit Netflix series, and the actor offered an ominous prediction for the real estate tycoon.
“He wouldn’t,” Spacey said. “There would be a terrible accident on the way to the debate … it would be terrible, and very sad.”
The actor made a guest appearance Wednesday at the annual SkyBridge Capitol reception at the Piano Bar in Davos, Switzerland, and said he is often asked that question.
“I thought about this and I said, ‘We must remember one important distinction, one of these characters is a fictional character, and the other is a fictional character,'” he joked, according to CBS News.
