Cubans stranded in Costa Rica start arriving in South Florida – The first group of Cubans- who were stranded in Costa Rica- arrived in Hialeah Gardens late Sunday night. According to our news partners at El Nuevo Herald, the group was part of the estimated 8,000 Cuban migrants stuck in the region- many of which are still waiting for their turn to get into the United States. Miami-based Telemundo gets to stay on as GOP debate host – Republicans will keep Miami-based Spanish-TV network Telemundo as an upcoming presidential debate host. But Telemundo parent organization NBC News will no longer take part in the event. The Republican National Committee announced the decision Monday for its Feb. 26 debate in Houston. Alan Grayson ad with congressional footage appears again, this time in debate – A campaign commercial for U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson played again Sunday night even though it had previously raised questions about closely skirting congressional ethics rules, an allegation the campaign denies. The ad ran in most Florida NBC markets during the second hour of the Democratic Presidential Debate Sunday night. Read more

Florida declares open season on pythons in annual challenge – Barefoot and accompanied by his beagle and pal Big Bill Booth, Dusty Crum eagerly set out to hunt, catch and/or kill as many Burmese pythons as possible. Crum is one of more than 600 adventurous men and women from 24 states who paid $25 to participate in Florida’s 2nd Python Challenge. The first, held three years ago, netted 68 of the snakes.
