No mercy for anti-cop Tarantino; ‘The Hateful Eight’ bombing at box office

Quentin Tarantino’s newest film “The Hateful Eight” has become “The Dreadful Gate” and he has no one to blame but himself.

Variety reported that the film earned $16.2 million in its opening weekend, the lowest for a Tarantino film since “Jackie Brown” amassed $9.3 million in 1997.

It came up short of other Tarantino hits like “Inglourious Basterds” at $38 million, “Django Unchained” which scored $30.1 million, and “Kill Bill” Vol. 1 and 2 which gained $22.1 million and $25.1 million, respectively.

Week two wasn’t any better for the director who decided it would be a good idea to go to a Black Lives Matter march in New York City — the same week a police officer was killed — and called cops murderers.

The film dropped 59.6 percent in its second week despite opening in 464 additional movie theaters nationwide, according to Box Office Mojo, who predicted the movie would “top out around $50 million or so.”

Considering the fact that production costs for the film were $50 million, with an additional $25 – $35 million in advertising, according to Breitbart, the movie is set to be a financial bomb.

While several factors could have contributed to the film’s paltry performance at the box office, including its untimely release alongside the box office behemoth “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” it should not be discounted that several law enforcement agencies called for a boycott of his films prior to its release.

Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly declared the film a “bomb” on social media and added that Tarantino may never recover from his attack on the police.

Many agreed and took no mercy on the filmaker.
