Black leader Tavis Smiley calls out Trump, ‘Bring it on! Where are you?’

Donald Trump has a new foe on his hands– black leader, author and talk show host Tavis Smiley.

Smiley appeared Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” with George Stephanopoulos where he called Trump a “religious and racial arsonist” while promoting his book “The Covenant With Black America: Ten Years Later.”

No doubt invoking the name of Trump is a ploy for attention and to boost book sales, Smiley’s attempt may ricochet as the Republican presidential front-runner fired back on social media calling him a “racist.”

On Tuesday, Smiley appeared on a local morning talk show “Good Day New York” with hosts Rosanna Scotto and Greg Kelly. Kelly is the son of former New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly under Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Scotto asked Smiley about the burgeoning feud.

“We keep talking about (Trump) rising in the polls but we disconnected from why he is rising,” Smiley said. “He is being covered but he is not being challenged. He is being covered, but he is not being condemned.”

Smiley contends that Trump is only making himself available to “white mainstream media.”

Kelly argued that Trump has made himself exceedingly accessible to everyone by frequently appearing on various shows.

“How many African-Americans have interviewed Donald Trump? How many Hispanics have interviewed Donald Trump? How many Muslims have interviewed Donald Trump?” Smiley asked. “He’s making himself accessible to the white, mainstream media.”

Kelly fired back that Trump had been interviewed by CNN’s Don Lemon, but Smiley had an answer for that too.

“White mainstream media!” Smiley shot back. “He’s on CNN.”

“Where do you want him to go? BET?” Kelly pressed to which Smiley asked Kelly to not be “dismissive.”

Smiley said he’s ready to take on Trump one-on-one.

“I would love to see you and Donald Trump sit down,” Scotto said. Smiley replied, “Bring it on Donald! Where are you?”
