Hillary forced to explain her latest email scandal, instructing staff to send doc as ‘nonsecure’

Hillary Clinton John DickersonAnother batch of Hillary Clinton emails were released Friday and one in particular had her facing tough questions.

Clinton appeared on CBS’ “Face The Nation” Sunday and addressed the email from June 17, 2011 where she instructed staffer Jake Sullivan to remove classifications from a document and “send nonsecure” after he informed her they were having difficulty sending secure faxes.

Host John Dickerson pressed Clinton on it and her answer was a rambling mess.

“As the State Department, said, just this week, that did not happen and it never would have happened, because, that’s just not the way I treated classified information,” she said of the email that plainly showed she indeed did treat this particular piece of classified information that way.

“What’s striking about that particular e-mail is it suggests you were very facile with how do this, this process. You knew the instructions about how to get around the restrictions for sending classified information. So you’re saying there was never an instance, any other instance in which you did that?” Dickerson pressed the Democrat presidential front-runner.

Clinton said her opponents were trying to find anything “to throw against the wall and see what sticks” but insisted “there is no there, there.”

“It wasn’t sent,” she said. “I think, you know, this is another instance where what is common practice, namely, look I need information, I had some points I had to make and I was waiting for a secure fax that could give me the whole picture. But oftentimes there’s a lot of information that isn’t at all classified so whatever information can appropriately transmitted unclassified often was, that’s true for every agency in the government and everybody who does business with the government.”
