The Obama administration is looking at six different military bases to store the flood of illegal immigrants pouring over the southern border.
One base is already been approved, according to a defense official who spoke with Fox News. The military reportedly approved a request from the Office of Refugee Resettlement at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to open up Holloman Air Force base.
According to a local ABC affiliate, Holloman may soon be home to 400 illegal immigrants by mid-January for an unknown period of time. Servicemembers have no say.
A total of 10,588 children have broken through the southern border in October and November, which is double the number from the same period of time in 2014. Illegals stay for an average of around 35 days.
Despite raids and deportation measures, the Obama administration still cannot defend the border and cannot deter migrants trying to sneak into the country. But once they’re in the country, border security must hand the illegals over to HHS in 72 hours. The government must care for the illegals while they wait for their court dates.
Instead of attempting to tighten up border security, the Obama administration is searching through the U.S. looking for places to store the illegals. They are mostly from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras.
That search has culminated in six different military bases scattered throughout the U.S., including Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida, Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota, Naval Support Activity Philadelphia in Pennsylvania, Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts and Travis Air Force Base in California.
The use of military bases already has a precedent. In 2014, the Obama administration relied on three military bases which took in 7,700 illegals. At the time, HHS warned that if more illegals pour through the border, the government will have to rely on military bases again.
That border surge has now taken place, and the Obama administration is looking to double the number of military bases in action.
