What had proved to be a slow day at work turned out to be one a Utah waitress will not forget any time soon.
Breanne Snow, a server at the Bourbon House in Salt Lake City, was at the end of her shift when she began waiting on a group of Michigan fans who had just watched their beloved Wolverines lose to the Utah Utes in college football.
But their misfortune on the gridiron didn’t quell the group’s appetite, as they ran up a $505 tab, according to Salt Lake City’s Fox 13 News.
Even more fortuitous for Snow, who works two jobs to get by, among the diners was a member of the anonymous Tips for Jesus group, which is renowned for dropping huge tips across the country.
How huge? Try $3,000.
“They’re like, ‘We want to give this to you. We want to make your day,’ and it did,” Snow told Fox 13. “And I started tearing up.”

Someone in the party took a photo of the check that included the $3,000 tip and posted it on the Tips for Jesus Instagram account.
“BRE ROCKS” and “@tipsforjesus” is written on the check, along with the hashtag #GOBLUE in support of Michigan, despite the earlier loss.
A thankful Snow was moved as much by the gesture itself as by the amount of the tip.
“After working so hard to get just a great payoff from it just really touched me, and I really am grateful,” she said. “I’ve always wanted to be one of those people that give. I always wish that I have the capacity to do that.”
Her reaction is likely why the Tips for Jesus group does what it does.
“And to so generously see that from someone else, a random act of kindness, there’s nothing that hits more home,” Snow added. “There’s not a word for it. A ‘Thank you’ is not enough.”
