Liberal Hollywood types to boycott Trump in Toronto, but some celebs show their LOVE

Liberal Hollywood types hate anything politically conservative, and some even have steered business away from Donald Trump by dumping his hotel for this year’s Toronto International Film Festival.

The industry’s reflexive liberal bias has most of the movie business opposing the Republican presidential front-runner — at least for his politics.

Indie producer and Miramax founder Harvey Weinstein wisecracked that because his liberal mother is a Trump fan, he and his brother Bob “are in court trying to abrogate being [our] mother’s sons” according to a New York Post report Friday.

The two-year-old luxury Trump Toronto Hotel has been a mecca for stars during the annual film festival event, but this year Weinstein’s company and Universal’s Focus Features are not returning.

Other liberals in the movie and music industry, such as Eva Longoria, Marc Anthony, Aaron Paul, and über-leftist Neil Young, also have been critical of Trump.  Mexican actress Salma Hayek — who guest-starred in the NBC comedy “30 Rock” for four years — said of Trump’s stance on illegal immigration, “Everybody’s entitled to be dumb.”

Not every celebrity is in the dump-Trump camp, however.

“You can’t help but get a kick out of him,” actor Owen Wilson said.  “We’re so used to politicians on both sides sounding like actors at press junkets.  Here’s somebody who’s not following that script.”

Wilson recently called Trump “the Charlie Sheen of politics.”  The controversial Sheen also has praised Trump, and so have conservative film producer Mark Cuban and KISS front man Gene Simmons.

Rocker Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins loves Trump because he defies the political correctness and “control” dominating today’s politics.

“He’s forcing a lot of things out into the open, so they can’t control this, whatever that control is,” Corgan said. “It’s like the music business: everybody gets controlled, and somebody comes along that f—s it all up.”

“I think it’s good that he’s f—ing it up, because whether or not he’s the guy, obviously the political class doesn’t want him there,” Corgan said. “It’ll open it up to a bigger dialog.”
