Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz was not too happy with former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley after he claimed the party’s governing body “rigged” the primary debates in favor of Hillary Clinton, his rival for the Democratic presidential nomination.
After sharing a stage with O’Malley on Friday, the head of the DNC expressed her contempt to CNN’s Dan Merica, telling him, “I just said thank you. I have more class than that.”
Perhaps Wasserman-Schultz has a different understanding of what the word “class” means.
Merica posted a series of tweets capturing his exchange with Wasserman-Schultz, who took the unusual stance of defending the debate process, saying it was “completely legal”:
.@DWStweets to me on what she said to O'Malley after his speech: "I just said thank you. I have more class than that."
— Dan Merica (@merica) August 28, 2015
.@DWStweets on O’Malley: “He chose to use that 15 minutes to focus on debates as opposed to his candidacy. That was certainly his right.”

.@DWStweets on MOM’s charge that exclusivity is illegal: “I’m quite confident that the process we have established is … completely legal.”

Based on their reactions, social media users are not as convinced that Wasserman-Schultz has class, or should even be in the position. Here’s a sampling of responses from Twitter:
@danmericaCNN @DWStweets apparently, ‘class’ means something different to dems.

@danmericaCNN @DWStweets DWS is perhaps the one person in America who aspires to one day be as ethical as @HillaryClinton

@danmericaCNN @DWStweets I don’t think “class” means what she thinks it means.

@danmericaCNN @DWStweets Maybe she should listen, most of us want more debates and soon. Issues need more then 6 debates.

@danmericaCNN @DWStweets She knows #HRC is #WeakestLink. She’s afraid of debates. She is trying to silence #WeThePeople #DNC acting #GOP
