There may be a good reason Hillary Clinton prefers organizing small get togethers for her campaign stops.
She can’t fill large ones.
The Democratic presidential frontrunner, appearing at the historically black Texas Southern University in Houston Thursday to accept the Barbara Jordan Gold Medallion for Public-Private Leadership award, spoke to a three-quarters empty arena.
Event organizers roped off 5,900 of the arena’s 8,100 seats, draping blue curtains around the roped off areas to hide the fact that Clinton only drew about 2,200 attendees, according to the Daily Mail.
As is her modus operandi, Clinton took no questions and snubbed reporters while pandering to her base, complaining that Texas voters can present gun registration as a valid form of voter I.D. but not their college identification cards, The Mail reported.
Clinton, who loves to blame conspiracies, said “hundreds of thousands” of Democrat-leaning voters in Texas were being disenfranchised by a conspiracy to keep them from voting.
“What is happening is a sweeping effort to disempower and disenfranchise people of color, poor people and young people from one end of our country to the other,” she said.
“Today Republicans are systematically and deliberately trying to stop millions of American citizens from voting,” she said. “I believe every citizen has the right to vote and I believe we should do everything we can to make it easier for every citizen to vote.”
Sure, why not just vote for everyone? That would be easier.
Clinton also believes former felons who have served their sentence should have their voting rights restored.
Imagine how the mainstream media would cry racism if a Republican spoke about felon’s rights at a historically black college.
Not content to stop there, she advocated the creation of a system that automatically registers voters rather than the opt-in system America currently uses, which is in line with nearly every other civilized nation on the planet.
“Every young man or young woman should be automatically registered to vote when they turn 18 unless they actively choose to opt out,” she said.
Naturally this would be a position Clinton would advocate because low information voters are a Democrat’s best friend.
She may as well have just said “let’s not allow Republicans to vote.”
