Caught on video: Starbucks supervisor going berserk on customers

Like Tony Montana in the hit movie “Scarface,” a Starbucks employee appears to have ignored the sage advice never to get high on your own supply.

The woman, possibly jacked up on a little too much caffeine, was captured on video going ballistic on a customer, giving a whole new meaning to Starbucks’ mission “to inspire and nurture the human spirit – one person, one cup and one neighbourhood at a time.”

According to a YouTube video description posted by Ruby Chen, she stopped in last week at a Queens, N.Y., Starbucks and didn’t hear the baristas call her name after placing her order because she was trying to figure out how to pay using a Starbucks app on her phone.

When the employee, identified as Melissa, began berating Chen and even accusing her of trying to steal the cookie straw, other customers came to Chen’s defense, which only further agitated the woman.

“Bye, bye,” she said to the customers. “Get the [expletive] out of here.”

Chen asked to speak to the store manager.

“You’re talking to her. You’re talking to the manager,” Melissa screamed. “Get out! You’re not going to be served here! Bye! Bye! Bye!”

As it turns out, Melissa was a shift supervisor, not a manager, and is no longer employed at the store. But the woman told PIX11 she quit on her own volition after being suspended.

Faced with a PR disaster, the company was contrite.

“The customer’s experience is not reflective of the service our baristas provide,” the company said in a statement. “The employee was immediately suspended and no longer works for Starbucks.”
