New CBS ‘Face the Nation’ host is a rabid GOP-hater; advised Obama to pulverize, destroy conservatives

There are a few things CBS doesn’t want you to know about new “Face the Nation” host John Dickerson — the political hack journalist who once urged President Obama to “pulverize” the Republican Party.

In June, the current host, respected journalist Bob Schieffer, will retire after a long career with CBS, and the network has tapped Dickerson for the spot at the top-rated Sunday morning talk show.

But CBS isn’t talking about Dickerson’s politics, and for good reason.  Dickerson’s own words betray his extreme anti-GOP sentiments.

In a column for liberal website Slate previewing Obama’s second inaugural address, Dickerson called for Obama to “declare war on the Republican Party.”

The president who came into office speaking in lofty terms about bipartisanship and cooperation can only cement his legacy if he destroys the GOP. If he wants to transform American politics, he must go for the throat.

Answering the question “how should Obama proceed then, if he wants to be bold?” Dickerson wrote:

Obama’s only remaining option is to pulverize. Whether he succeeds in passing legislation or not, given his ambitions, his goal should be to delegitimize his opponents. Through a series of clarifying fights over controversial issues, he can force Republicans to either side with their coalition’s most extreme elements or cause a rift in the party that will leave it, at least temporarily, in disarray.

Dickerson was born and raised in a 49-acre D.C. suburban estate with a 36-room mansion, the son of millionaires; a graduate of Sidwell Friends School—the same school Obama’s daughters attend. As that Obama inauguration column makes clear, he also shares the president’s politics.

Besides the “pulverize” column, Dickerson was a behind-the-scenes player who helped spark the Valerie Plame-Joe Wilson  non-scandal with a 2003 column in Time magazine that asked if the Bush administration was waging a “War on Wilson?” He was also a weekly guest on the radio show of comedian/liberal Democrat and now Sen. Al Franken.

In short, Dickerson is as much an inside-the-Beltway liberal operator as George Stephanopoulos, the former Clinton White House communications director and strategist who now masquerades as a “journalist” on Sunday mornings on ABC’s “This Week.”

CBS News president David Rhodes defended Dickerson, Breitbart reported Monday.

“John is first and foremost a reporter — and that’s what he’ll be as anchor of ‘Face the Nation’,” Rhodes said.  “His work in the studio will always be informed by what he’s learned in Iowa, in New Hampshire, on Capitol Hill — anywhere there’s news.”

That’s laughable, considering Rhodes’ own ties to the Obama administration. His brother Ben is a top Obama official best known for preparing then-U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice’s “talking points” after the Benghazi murder of four Americans by Islamic terrorists, according to Breitbart.

One thing is sure:  Dickerson is just another cog in the wheel of the mainstream media, pushing liberal Democrat causes under the guise of objective journalism.

CBS doesn’t want you to know that.
