The Business Political Action Committee of Palm Beach County, known as BIZPAC, has announced its candidate endorsements for November’s general election.
As the eyes, ears and voice for businesses in Palm Beach County’s political arena, BIZPAC seeks out business-friendly candidates who appreciate business’ role as the engine that drives the regional economy and caliber of life. The organization does not seek to support one political party over another.
BIZPAC’s endorsements are:
Governor: Rick Scott
Attorney General: Pam Bondi
Chief Financial Officer: Jeff Atwater
Commissioner of Agriculture: Adam Putnam
Florida Senate 32: Joe Negron
Florida Senate 34: Ellyn Bogdanoff
Florida House 82: MaryLynn Magar
Florida House 86: Stuart Mears
Florida House 89: Bill Hager
Palm Beach County Commission District 4: Steven Abrams
Palm Beach County Commission District 6: Melissa McKinlay
Palm Beach County School Board District 4: Tom Sutterfield
BIZPAC also endorsed candidates who won their races in the primary election. They are:
Florida House 85: Pat Rooney
Florida House 88: Bobby Powell
Palm Beach County Commission District 2: Paulette Burdick
Palm Beach County School Board District 3: Karen Brill
Rep. Powell faces only a write-in opponent in November, virtually assuring his election.
“This is a good group of candidates for business,” BIZPAC Vice President Tom Lynch said. “They look at the issues and they look at the entire picture before they take action. And the ones I have known for a while have a history of showing some courage when there’s a lot at stake.”
