The waters of the Atlantic Ocean may be too chilly for President Obama, but slamming Republicans still seems to warm the Hawaiian native’s heart.
“I found, as somebody from Hawaii, the water is still a little cold,” Obama told a fundraiser crowd on Martha’s Vineyard on Monday, according to Breitbart News, adding that he is enjoying the scenery. “It’s really wonderful to be at Martha’s Vineyard, especially when the weather is this good.”
Obama talked briefly of the beautiful beaches and marine life his family is getting to enjoy while on vacation in the swank Massachusetts town, but he took no time off from criticizing Republicans.
“What’s preventing us from getting things done right now is you’ve got a faction within the Republican Party that thinks solely in terms of their own ideological purposes and solely in terms of how do they hang on to power,” he said, according to Breitbart News.
If Democrats lose the Senate, the party would have a hard time confirming a new Supreme Court justice if a sitting judge steps down, he said.
The president also had some news to share with his donors on about recent developments in Iraq, Breitbart News reported.
“Before I came here, I had a chance to speak to the prime minister-designate of Iraq,” he said. “I’m hopeful that now we have the opportunity to form a government in Iraq that can be an effective partner for us, but, more importantly, can form the kind of broad, inclusive government that serves as a basis for them to repel the terrorist movement, ISIL, that has been sweeping across the country.”
It would be nice if the commander in chief shared the news with the rest of America, not just those paying to hear him speak.
