Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., threw gasoline on a smoldering fire Thursday when he said Americans who showed up in support of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy in his stand off with federal agents from the Bureau of Land Management are “nothing more than domestic terrorists.”
“Those people who hold themselves out to be patriots are not,” Reid said at an event hosted by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “They’re nothing more than domestic terrorists… I repeat: what went on up there was domestic terrorism.”
Reid also claimed supporters said they had “children and women lined up because if anyone got hurt we wanted to make sure they got hurt first,” the Review Journal reported.

And if that weren’t bad enough, he attacked Bundy in much the same way he once went after Mitt Romney, by saying the rancher does not pay his taxes — that he offered nothing to support the claim is also in line with the attack on Romney.
“Clive Bundy does not recognize the United States,” Reid said. “The United States, he says, is a foreign government. He doesn’t pay his taxes. He doesn’t pay his fees. And he doesn’t follow the law. He continues to thumb his nose at authority.”
Fox News host Megyn Kelly had local talk radio host Kevin Wall on Thursday’s program, who said he was in contact with Bundy after Reid leveled the charge.
“I spoke to Cliven Bundy less than an hour ago and he said he has no back taxes to pay, he is fully paid up,” Wall said.
Looking past the incredible irony of a Democrat lawmaker in the Obama era lecturing someone about following the law, Reid said he was told a task force was being set up to deal with Bundy, according to the Review-Journal.
“We are a country that people should follow the law,” Reid said in holding the American people to a higher standard than that which the Democratic Party adheres to.
