In a clear sign the world has gone mad, Twitchy regales us with the story of four-legged landscapers — “eco-goats” — being drafted into service at the Congressional Cemetery in Washington, D.C.
According to Fox News:
A small herd of goats arrived Wednesday at the 35-acre site, in the shadows of Capitol Hill, to gnaw away at Kudzu and other underbrush so dense it is strangling trees that threaten to topple onto headstones.
Paul Williams, president of the Association for the Preservation of Historic Congressional Cemetery, said the goats are being used as an eco-friendly and cost-efficient alternative to machines or pesticide, considering the cemetery rests on the banks of the Anacostia River.
Although there are 71 House members and 19 senators, among others, buried at the cemetery, the name itself is somewhat of a misnomer. While historic, the privately owned cemetery is active and still sells plots — the U.S. government owns 806 burial plots administered by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
It’s odd how a “herd” of reporters turned out to cover this story, as depicted in the Associated Press photo below, but the media won’t report on Benghazi.
