Women, minorities ‘second class citizens’ in Obama’s White House

The mileage President Barack Obama and the far-left got out of the faux “war on women” during the 2012 election, where an unaccomplished 30-year-old still in college — Sandra Fluke — became a national celebrity for free contraception, is legendary.

But is the real war on women being waged in the Obama White House?

CNS News reports that 70 percent of the White House staffers who made the top annual salary of $172,200 in 2012 were men and 30 percent were women, based on a White House report on staff compensation.

The article adds that “men on the White House staff are paid, on average, $86,260.89 and women are paid, on average, $76,162.65. That means the average man on the White House staff is paid about $10,098 — about 13 percent — more than the average woman.”

This report comes on the heels of a report last week about the Congressional Black Caucus sending the president a letter expressing concern over the lack of African Americans among his Cabinet picks.

Obama drew criticism for picking white males for some of the highest spots in the administration, including secretary of state, treasury secretary, defense secretary and chief of staff.

You may recall all the fanfare in the Obama-adoring media back in 2009 when he signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Restoration Act into law — the bill was to help ensure pay equity between men and women. Obama said at the time:

“So, in signing this bill, I intend to send a clear message: That making our economy work means making sure it works for everyone. That there are no second class citizens in our workplaces, and that it’s not just unfair and illegal–but bad for business–to pay someone less because of their gender, age, race, ethnicity, religion or disability.”

Yet another example of Obama’s actions not being inconsistent with his words. There is a saying that is becoming more and more fitting for this president: “All show, no go.”
