San Francisco’s city supervisors passed an ordinance on Tuesday banning “genital exposure on all city sidewalks, plazas, parklets, streets and public transit” reported the San Francisco Chronicle.
Would it surprise you to learn that right after the 6-5 vote, several area nudists ripped off their clothes in protest? Right there in the City Hall? Probably not.
Well, these same naked protestors have filed a federal lawsuit against the city claiming their right to free speech and expression is violated under the new law.
However, as reported in a related article, there are some exceptions to the public nudity ban; for example, street fairs and parades. It is San Francisco, after all.
