‘From blackface to womanface’: Justin Trudeau gets thrashed for appearing on ‘Drag Race’ TV show

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is beclowning himself once again with the embarrassing distinction of being the first world leader to appear on the Drag Race television franchise while his country struggles economically.

He’s the first world leader to visit the RuPaul-founded competition series, which has more than a dozen global spinoffs in countries including Sweden, Australia, Mexico, and the United Kingdom.

In a “let them view drag” move, Trudeau evidently thought this was the perfect time to hobnob with drag queens and he is getting hammered by Canadians for it.

His appearance on the new season of “Canada’s Drag Race” was announced Tuesday and the show capitalized on him cringingly telling a drag queen, “We’re making herstory.”

The trailer for the upcoming season is titled “Canada vs. The World.” In it, the prime minister meets and mingles with contestants as they get ready to compete for Canada’s “next drag superstar.” The premiere airs on November 18. Nine drag queens from around the world will compete across six episodes for the franchise’s second international crown.

Social media tore into Trudeau and it was brutal.

Amy Eileen Hamm, who is the co-founder of the Canadian Women’s Sex-Based Rights coalition, asked Trudeau if he would “combine womanface AND blackface.”

Paul Oakley, who is the former spokesman for the UK Independence Party, tweeted, “A keen advocate of blackface, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will now also endorse womanface as he is to appear as a guest on Drag Race.”

Another social media user observed: “From blackface to womanface. Trudeau‘s journey is complete,” while others bluntly called Trudeau “an embarrassment.”

The Canadian prime minister has long championed LGBTQ causes and issues in his country. He has appeared at Pride parades and has apologized profusely for injustices committed against the gay community.

As Trudeau preens and prances on Drag Race, prices in his country have skyrocketed by 6.9 percent. The Bank of Canada hiked interest rates by 350 points in just seven months, according to Reuters. Canadians fear a looming recession.

According to CBC, in September the president of the Canadian Medical Association announced the country’s entire healthcare system may fall apart if it does not receive an infusion of cash.

Dr. Alika Lafontaine, who is an anesthesiologist, told CBC that the country’s healthcare is in “dire” straits.

“We’ve been saying for a while that we’re concerned about collapse. And in some places, collapse has already happened,” he asserted. “All of these things are not normal things for Canadians to experience so we are at a critical point right now. If you can’t access services, that literally does mean collapse.”

Trudeau was torched for yet again making a ridiculous spectacle of himself:
