Manchin blows up over Biden’s vow to close down ALL coal plants: ‘It is time he learn a lesson’

President Joe Biden’s war on domestic energy has moved beyond fossil fuels and is now targeting coal, a vital energy source that has been essential for modern civilization, vowing that all coal plants will soon be shut down as the regime takes that great leap of faith in pursuit of green unicorns frolicking in the future utopia that exists inside of progressive minds.

To say that Biden’s pledge that all existing coal plants would be closed down and replaced by wind and solar power generating facilities did not go over well with Senator Joe Manchin would be an enormous understatement after the West Virginia Democrat blew his stack, unloading on the most disastrous leader in the nation’s history and demanded that he apologize for his “outrageous” comments.

In a blistering statement issued three days before the all-important midterm elections, the so-called moderate tore into Biden’s sustainable energy delusions despite his casting of the decisive vote for the Inflation Reduction Act, a Trojan horse for the Green New Deal along with 70,000 new IRS agents to shake down hard-working Americans to finance its most radical provisions.

“President Biden’s comments are not only outrageous and divorced from reality, they ignore the severe economic pain the American people are feeling because of rising energy costs. Comments like these are the reason the American people are losing trust in President Biden and instead believes he does not understand the need to have an all in energy policy that would keep our nation totally energy independent and secure,” Manchin said. “It seems his positions change depending on the audience and the politics of the day. Politicizing our nation’s energy policies would only bring higher prices and more pain for the American people.”

“Let me be clear, this is something the President has never said to me. Being cavalier about the loss of coal jobs for men and women in West Virginia and across the country who literally put their lives on the line to help build and power this country is offensive and disgusting. The President owes these incredible workers an immediate and public apology and it is time he learn a lesson that his words matter and have consequences,” the Democrat lawmaker fumed, though not providing any detail of what those “consequences” may be.

Biden’s remarks came during a trip to the West coast where he spoke at an event in Carlsbad, California, on Friday, “No one is building new coal plants because they can’t rely on it. Even if they have all the coal guaranteed for the rest of the existence of the plant,” he said, bragging about a Massachusetts plant that was shut down.

“So it’s going to become a wind generation,” Biden added. “And all they’re doing is it’s going to save them a hell of a lot of money and using the same transmission line that they transmitted the coal-fired electric on, we’re going to be shutting these plants down all across America and having wind and solar power.”

It’s understandable that Manchin would be hot over Biden’s remarks considering the importance of the coal industry to his state’s economy. But he also may be vastly overstating his own sense of importance which he squandered by lining up with the rest of Senate Democrats to pass Biden’s bill and if Republicans manage to retake the chamber next week, he will be irrelevant.
