Conservative commentator Charlie Kirk bristled at the National Hockey League (NHL) after it released its first-ever “diversity” report, asserting that the sports body has been infected by wokeness and is hell-bent on destroying itself.

The NHL did an internal demographic study of its staff and all of its 32 teams concerning diversity. The results show that hockey simply is too “white” for leftists and has to be transformed into a far more “woke” model of diversity.
The “Diversity and Inclusion” report was released on Tuesday and found that “83.6% of the NHL’s workforce is white and that men make up nearly 62% of the total, based on the 4,200 people who participated in a voluntary and anonymous survey (about 67% of all employees),” according to the NHL.
The Associated Press noted that the report mirrors the lack of diversity on the ice where over 90% of players and almost all coaches and officials are white.
“The whole purpose behind doing a workforce study is to provide a baseline: a fact-based baseline so that you can begin to develop very intentional and specific strategies around where you need to hire, how you need to hire, how you need to improve your brand,” Kim Davis, the NHL’s executive vice president of social impact, growth, and legislative affairs, declared. “This is a good start, but there’s a ways to go.”

On the latest episode of “The Charlie Kirk Show show,” Kirk noted, “Now the National Hockey League is going out of their way to pander to woke ideology, diversity, equity, inclusion, affirmative action guidelines. Hockey of all sports.”
Kirk is enraged by the move and so are many hockey-loving conservatives.
“I’m really getting upset about this. So they want to diversify the National Hockey League. Why don’t they want to diversify the National Basketball Association? No one ever talks about that. It’s not a very diverse league,” he proclaimed.
“The NFL is 71% non-white. That’s not very diverse. But now they say, ‘Well, we need more diverse NFL coaches.’ Why? Why don’t you want good coaches? You want some diversity hire? All the coaches are white. So what? What does that have to do with anything? Oh, ‘blacks only wanna play for blacks.’ Oh, ’cause they’re so racist,” Kirk commented.
The NHL has declared a crisis because it has too many white people.

He pointed out that not only is hockey an expensive sport, but it’s also just not that popular in the black community. You could hear the left’s egg-timer about to go off over the assertion.
“Look, here’s a fact of life — hockey is not that popular in the black community. It’s not. Therefore, a lot of black kids aren’t playing hockey. Also, it’s a very expensive sport. And you could try to fix that. You could try to have hockey rinks and all that. It’s just — there is not a lot of compelling interest in black culture and black America to go play hockey,” Kirk continued.
Weird because the NHL was the only league that never complied with the woke left. What’s next, are the Blackhawks gonna be forced to change their name?

“Basketball’s a cheap sport to play. And on average in inner-city America, black families have less income, less money, all that nonsense we always hear because black fathers don’t stick around. And so basketball is a lot more popular. Let me ask a question. Do you think Wayne Gretzky or Michael Jordan is more revered in an average black family? Not even close,” he added addressing an issue that the left has completely ignored.
He continued, bluntly focusing on the hypocrisy of woke diversity.
“Do you think an average black kid in Harlem dreams about becoming LeBron James or becoming Alexander Ovechkin?” Kirk asked.

“What do you think that they dream to become like? So instead of looking at the National Hockey League as being not that interesting for black America? No. They wanna now put in new diversity, equity, inclusion guidelines to try to force a recomposition of which as if race means something. I think race means nothing,” he concluded.
Kirk’s comments set social media ablaze as the whole woke “diversity” move by the NHL got hammered:
