CDC director busted as FOIA emails show ‘consult with parents’ on school openings stuffed with liberal activists only

According to new documents, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky had exactly one meeting with parents on schools reopening and it was populated by left-wing activists funded by Democratic megadonors.

Those documents were obtained by Fox News Digital and they show that among the leftists at the meeting were the head of a transgender-aligned group along with other activists who are being funded by the deep pockets of wealthy Democrats.

During the pandemic, Walensky was notorious for claiming that the CDC had consulted parents’ needs for guidance on reopening schools despite only holding one 30-minute meeting.

During that single meeting, American Federation of Teachers president Randi Weingarten took the opportunity to bash Fox News Digital and other publications for reporting on the CDC’s closeness with teachers’ unions. She tweeted in May 2021 that the media outlets “are probably never going to let their readers know that the CDC met with parents too.”

As part of their FOIA lawsuit against the CDC that was shared with Fox News Digital, the previously redacted emails show that the meeting included liberal activists with a political message. Walensky’s Feb. 10, 2021, roundtable featured five participants, including Roz Keith, who is the founder and executive director of Stand With Trans, an organization for parents of transgender children, according to the documents.

“We are committed to dismantling the barriers faced by our community based on racism, sexism, queer-antagonism, and other discriminatory factors,” the group’s website proclaims. “These barriers include recent legislation like denying trans people from using the bathroom of their gender, barring trans people from participating in sports of their gender, and banning schools from teaching about LGBTQ acceptance.”

Also in attendance were Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner and Angelica Gonzalez. Rowe-Finkbeiner is the executive director of MomsRising, a progressive group that promotes campaigns that range from “workplace justice” to gun safety. Gonzalez is also affiliated with MomsRising.

MomsRising was the recipient of $1 million from George Soros’ Open Society Policy Center and another $1 million from Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wyss’ Berger Action Fund in 2020.

The president and co-founder of Little Lobbyists, Elena Hung, was also a participant in Walensky’s closed roundtable. Her group seeks “to protect and expand the rights of children who have complex medical needs and disabilities through advocacy, education, and outreach.”

Hung is the national co-chair of Health Care Voter. That group advocates holding politicians accountable for their votes on healthcare issues. It is a project of the Sixteen Thirty Fund, which is a progressive nonprofit incubator at a massive liberal dark money network managed by the DC-based consulting firm Arabella Advisors, according to Fox News.

The only other parent on the call was Rachel Kobrin, a congregational rabbi.

“Since taking the reins of the CDC, Dr. Walensky has prioritized everything but following the science,” Caitlin Sutherland, who is the executive director of Americans for Public Trust, told Fox News Digital in an interview.

“First, she colluded with the teachers’ unions to keep our schools closed, and now we learn that her ‘parent’ meeting was nothing more than placating the demands of liberal activists from dark money groups,” Sutherland charged. “Maybe if the CDC spent less time appeasing activists and unions, kids could have returned to school faster and wouldn’t be facing devastating losses in learning.”

Walensky’s calendar reportedly shows that she only conducted one Zoom meeting with the far-left activists masquerading as parents. It occurred just two days before the release of the school opening guidance. Each participant was given three minutes to “introduce themselves and discuss their needs for safe school reopening,” according to her calendar.
