Mary Katharine Ham slams CNN for secretly suspending her after commenting on Jeffrey Toobin’s transgressions

Conservative commentator Mary Katharine Ham was secretly suspended from CNN for seven months because she made a joke about serial masturbator and legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin according to a post on Substack.

Fox News host Howard Kurtz applauded Ham for refusing to stay quiet about the revelation on Sunday’s episode of “Media Buzz.”

Her post was published last week and was titled, “In the Age of Quiet Quitting, I Was Quiet Suspended, And I Can’t Shut Up About It.” She was evidently barred because she objected to Toobin being brought back on the air at CNN.

Toobin, who was caught masturbating during a work Zoom meeting, slithered back onto CNN and was allegedly welcomed by his colleagues, but not by Ham. He has since been booted once again, leaving the network in August.

“People ask me these days if I’m still on TV. The answer is: not really. So, where have I been? What happened to this formerly visible part of my career?” Ham wrote.

It came to my attention in July that I had been punished under old CNN leadership— kept off air since January— for tweeting about Jeffrey Toobin in a Twitter dust-up with Andrew Kaczynski (another CNN employee) regarding our network’s coverage of the 2017 Congressional baseball shooting,” she recounted.

“I was never informed of my punishment until it was rescinded recently by new management. No one called me or my representation about it. There was no announcement of a suspension, or notification of in-house disciplinary action, which I would have preferred, even welcomed by comparison to serving a secret sentence,” Ham continued.

Toobin “was off air for eight months; I was off for seven,” she commented in her piece. “One month was the difference between punishment for jacking off at work versus commenting on the inadvisability of jacking off at work.”

Kurtz slammed CNN during his “Buzz Beater” segment for the network not telling Ham why she was “secretly suspended.” They gave an offensive excuse, lamely claiming that she might be a “loose cannon” because she had just had a baby.

“Seriously?” Kurtz incredulously asked.

“I was told it was Jeff Zucker, now gone, who put this order in place and a deputy, also gone, who kept it there. I was also told I wasn’t informed of the network’s displeasure because I had just had a baby and someone in the old leadership thought I might be a ‘loose cannon.’ Not as loose as Toobin’s, but I digress,” Ham snarked.

“(Look, if you’re gonna tell a grown-ass woman her former bosses thought her postpartum state made it problematic to inform her of routine information about her employment, she is entitled to the occasional penis pun.)” she added.

“I was treated unfairly by the people who punished me. Simply shutting up about it does not sit right with me,” Ham asserted.

“Mary Katharine said she was treated unfairly and refuses to shut up about it,” Kurtz remarked. “Good for her!”

He called CNN’s treatment of Ham “outrageously unfair” in a tweet on Monday reiterating his outrage over the whole disgraceful incident.

Ham has since been invited back to CNN by the new management but she wanted to clear the air first and tell her story of how she was secretly exiled for not being politically incorrect.
