The coordinated effort to pin conservatives as violent extremists hasn’t abated and with the midterms now less than seven weeks out, it looks as though the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) may be deliberately avoiding safety measures for election officials.
The narrative heading into November from corporate media is one of a powder keg supposedly fueled by so-called election denialism, but instead of ensuring that the free and fair election can carry-on without incident, DHS’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has reportedly rejected a proposal from a federally funded nonprofit to protect election officials from harassment, according to CNN.
A senior U.S. official spoke with the outlet and made the case that DHS was supposedly cowed by Republicans after their success in bringing to light the dangers of the Disinformation Governance Board and its would-be chair Nina Jankowicz stating, “DHS got very spooked after the failed rollout of the Disinformation Governance Board, even though the message [from administration officials] was clear that we can’t back down, we can’t be bullied by the right.”
The dismissed multimillion dollar proposal would have not only been enacted to protect election workers from harassment, but would have been setup to “track foreign influence activity and modestly increase resources for reporting domestic mis- and disinformation related to voting,” CNN detailed.
Revelations on the decision to nix protections heading into the election come on the heels of House Judiciary Committee ranking member Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) sharing whistleblower claims that the FBI has been actively working against procedure to create the perception of widespread domestic extremism stemming from conservative dissent.
“They are juicing the numbers and cooking the books,” he told Fox News host Tucker Carlson, after sending a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray demanding answers on the alleged, “manipulative casefile practice” that “creates a false and misleading crime statistics.”

CISA senior election security lead Kim Wyman did not address the proposal as she commented on the department’s outlook heading into November, stating, “Over the past several years, we have learned that the most impactful way of combatting disinformation is to empower local election officials as the trusted voices within their communities to help voters get the accurate information they need to exercise their right to vote.”
“We are working side-by-side with these election officials to support these efforts,” she claimed. “We have not wavered in our mission to help the American people better understand the threat of foreign influence campaigns, and we will continue to publish resources to help the public identify foreign malicious activity.”
Meanwhile, questions of the federal government’s collusion with various agencies on controlling the flow of information have led Attorneys General Eric Schmitt (Mo.) and Jeff Landry (La.) to submit a Joint Statement on Discovery Disputes compelling the Department of Justice to produce communications between President Joe Biden’s administration and social media to expose believed collusion between the government and Big Tech to control the narrative.
“The discovery provided so far demonstrates that this Censorship Enterprise is extremely broad,” the statement read in part, “including officials in the White House, HHS, DHS, CISA, the CDC, NIAID, and the Office of the Surgeon General; and evidently other agencies as well, such as the Census Bureau, the FDA, the FBI, the State Department, the Treasury Department, and the U.S. Election Assistance Commission.”
