Video shows immigrants brazenly taunting and attacking border patrol agents

A confrontation between a Border Patrol agent and an alleged noncompliant migrant on a San Diego beach is now under investigation by the FBI.

U.S. Rep. Mayra Flores (R-Tex.) shared the brief video clip that has gone viral of the altercation which shows one male already in custody.

The other migrant appears to brazenly taunt and, at one point, lunge at an agent who uses a baton on him to maintain separation before another officer arrives and tackles the man. The aggressive individual appears to be wearing a wetsuit.

She described the detainees as suspected smugglers. The video was originally posted by a TikTok user.

The incident reportedly occurred early Sunday evening near Imperial Beach and was prompted when the duo swam around the international boundary fencing. A vocal group of onlookers in Tijuana, Mexico, can be heard behind the fencing during the encounter.

This viral video is just a snapshot, as it were, of the ongoing law enforcement, national security, humanitarian, and public health illegal immigration crisis created by the Biden administration’s stubborn open-borders, catch-and-release policies, which has also given a green light to human traffickers and drug smugglers.

According to the Washington Examiner, a statement from U.S. Customs and Border Enforcement explained that “as agents attempted to take both migrants into custody, the migrants actively resisted and assaulted the agents. During the confrontation, the agents deployed less lethal devices. One unaccompanied juvenile Mexican national, age 17, and one adult Mexican national, age 20, were taken into custody and transported to a nearby station for processing.”

Based on standard operating procedure, the FBI reportedly takes charge of any investigation that involves an assault on a Border Patrol agent.

Confirming the investigation, a spokesperson for the agency’s San Diego field office said that “We will review all available facts of the incident to determine what federal response is warranted.”

In a statement, Rep. Flores — the winner of a June special election that flipped a longtime south Texas blue seat to red — explained that “The video I posted…is just a small example of what our brave men and women of CBP deal with on a daily basis. Left without any support by this administration and thanks to their open border policies, disrespect and misconduct toward our law enforcement officials have reached alarming levels.”

Flores’ Texas colleague Chip Roy opined that “Encounters like this will only continue to happen until we secure the border, target and destroy cartels, and actually stand up for the rule of law. Until Republicans decide to dig in and use the power of the purse to take on this administration, this is only going to get worse.”

According to data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection, there has been a massive 25 percent year-over-year increase in “land border encounters” in the San Diego region alone as millions of undocumented persons have poured into the country at the southern border under Biden’s watch, assuming watch is even the appropriate word.
