‘Legal definition of sexual harassment!’ Megyn Kelly reacts to Betsy Devos detailing encounter with Biden

As far as commentator Megyn Kelly is concerned, President Joe Biden is guilty of committing “sexual harassment” against Trump era Education Secretary Betsy DeVos as per the “legal definition” of said harassment.

She stated this perspective during an interview on her podcast last week after DeVos recounted the now-viral tale about how Biden had behaved inappropriately the first that they ever met.

“I’ve only had one encounter with Joe Biden, and it was before he decided to run for president. I was in a wheelchair. I was backstage after speaking. I’d never met him before in my life. He came up to me, put his hands on my shoulders and his forehead on my forehead for several seconds and had a conversation with me,” DeVos said.

DeVos has repeated this story several times as evidence of why the Biden administration’s proposed Title IX changes — which will deprive men accused of sexual harassment/assault of due process — are wrong. (To be clear, the changes began with the Obama administration. But then DeVos reversed the changes during her tenure in office. However, Biden now seeks to restore the Obama-era version of Title IX.)

She repeated this refrain during the interview with Kelly.

“If he had done that as a student on a college campus, under his proposed rule I would have a Title IX sexual harassment allegation to levy against him because of his conduct. I heard from many students who had lesser encounters or lesser situations than what I had to encounter with him, and yet he wants this for college students, but will not acknowledge and, you know, agree to probes into allegations of much more egregious conduct on his part against other women,” DeVos continued.

“I’m just using it as an example to say this administration is so bent on trying to politicize and weaponize a law that was meant to protect women and to give them access to education, not to weaponize it to harm others. And, you know, this is a really, really bad direction that they’re taking with their proposed Title IX rule. And I hope people will speak up about it.”

Kelly responded with shock and disgust.

“Wait, you were in a wheelchair and he came over and he touched foreheads with you? Oh my God! Why!? Disgusting! You don’t want to touch foreheads with anybody. I don’t even touch foreheads with my husband. I mean, that’s bizarre and another example of his inappropriate boundary crossing,” she said.

She then asked what exactly Biden had been saying to her.

“Good question. He asked if I had any hardware as a result of my injury. I had broken my pelvis. Then he told me that he had nine screws in his shoulder, but everybody thought they were in his head. And he was doing this while holding on to my shoulders with his forehead pressed to mine, with nowhere to go to or escape,” DeVos replied.

In response, Kelly dropped a truth bomb.

Listen:

So you were basically harassed, the legal legal definition of sexual harassment, by Joe Biden, while in a wheelchair. That’s our takeaway here,” she said.

Pretty much.

But because he’s the most powerful Democrat in America, he’s been allowed to get away with this and plenty more.

DeVos rightly believes it’s an important story to tell over and over again as a wake-up call to Democrats who support the administration’s Title IX changes.

“I think about that encounter every time I hear Biden talk about dismantling our reforms of Title IX. I am not equating my experience with those of other women, who have accused Biden of disturbing behavior. But it is worth asking: If Biden behaved that way on a college campus, how would he like to be judged by the rules that he seeks to impose on others?” she explained in a column last month.

He’d likely immediately be judged guilty of sexual harassment without any chance to tell his own side of the story — which is exactly what happened to a young black man named Joseph who got caught up in the Obama-era Title IX rules that DeVos eliminated but Biden now seeks to reinstitute.

“He is a Navy veteran and had been a student at Savannah State University (SSU), who was just three weeks away from becoming the first person in his family to graduate from college. He woke up one morning in 2013 to find an email from the Office of Student Affairs,” DeVos explained.

“You are hereby summarily suspended and if you step foot on campus, you get the threat of expulsion and arrest,” the email read, Joseph recalled in his own words.

“The email was followed by a campus-wide alert with Joseph’s picture, urging anyone who saw him on campus to report it to campus security. Joseph had no idea what he had been accused of. He had never been contacted by the university about any accusation or any investigation, much less any conviction,” DeVos continued.

Something similar happened years later to Marcus Knight, an autistic black man:

An autistic kid gets kicked out of college over a fist bump, whereas the most powerful Democrat in America becomes the president despite sexually harassing several women? Make that make sense …
