A Pennsylvania Democrat running for reelection in a swing House district in the Lehigh Valley area will probably get low marks from her rural constituents after condescendingly boasting on video about the need to “school” Trump voters.
In 2020, U.S. Rep. Susan Wild, who appears to be just another automatic vote for the radical-left Pelosi agenda du jour, narrowly defeated GOP rival Lisa Scheller by about 52 to 48 percent.
Redistricting has transformed this year’s contest, however, into a possible Republican flip, especially if a red wave actually occurs.
“Pennsylvania’s redrawn 7th congressional district…now includes Republican-friendly Carbon County. During a virtual meet & greet on Monday, Wild said the Republican voters of Carbon County may need to be educated on the error of their way,” Fox News reported on Thursday.
“Trump won Carbon County with 65% of the vote during the 2020 presidential election. Wild’s rematch against…Scheller, whom she defeated in 2020, is currently viewed as a toss-up,” the news outlet added.
“Carbon County has many attributes, but it is a county that – although it was once an Obama county; it since has become a Trump county. I’m not quite sure what was in their heads because the people of Carbon County are exactly the kind of people who should not be voting for a Donald Trump, but I guess I might have to school them on that a little bit. But most of all, it is a very rural county,” Wild, 65, an attorney, asserted in the video clip.

The House district is situated in the Allentown and Bethlehem area.
As of this writing, neither Wild nor Scheller have issued statements in reaction to this video. The way politics usually works, a clarification from Wild seems likely, particularly if she wants to have any kind of electoral carbon footprint, as it were, in Carbon County.
The daughter of a journalist and a career Air Force officer, Susan Wild earned a B.A. and a JD at American University and George Washington University, respectively, perhaps two of the most liberal colleges in America, both of which are located in Washington, D.C.
GOP standard-bearer Scheller is a businesswoman who owns a manufacturing company, which her website claims “is the only certified women-owned business of its kind in the world,” and the former chair of the Lehigh County Board of Commissioners.
On Thursday, the PoliticsPA website described the 7th District Seat as “highly vulnerable.”
In comparison to 2020, “this time, Scheller will have two advantages. First, the new iteration of the district is slightly more Republican than it was in 2020. And second, parties that control the White House, like the Democrats today, usually face strong headwinds in midterm elections, especially when the president is as unpopular as Joe Biden is today. But Wild has managed to win in competitive political territory before, and she has about three times as much money in the bank as Scheller does,” the website explained.
According to ProPublica, Susan Wild and Pelosi “have agreed on 100 percent of votes in the 117th Congress (2021-22).”
