Mark Leibovich, a writer for The Atlantic, has a new book coming out wherein he hopes to highlight the supposed “fecklessness” of Republicans as a way to attack former President Donald Trump. However, his efforts to knock the president and promote his own work have only managed to draw attention to the strength of the MAGA movement when juxtaposed with “sobbing” RINOs.
CNN obtained excerpts from Leibovich’s new book. “Thank You For Your Servitude: Donald Trump’s Washington and the Price of Submission,” that focus on former House Speaker Paul Ryan’s (R-WI) reaction to Jan. 6. Frequently at odds with Trump since his departure from public service, the excerpts depicted Ryan lamenting how “something snapped in him” seeing the breach of the Capitol and though he claimed to be not much of a crier, he “found himself sobbing.”
“I spent my whole adult life in that building,” Ryan was quoted as saying. “And I saw my friends, a lot of cops, some of my old security detail — I’m still friends with a bunch of those guys. It really disturbed me, foundationally.”
“I was absolutely horrified,” he reportedly said of the events of Jan. 6.
Leibovich went on to write, “Ryan figured the president would b*tch and moan and maybe make a big show of ‘fighting’ for his supporters for a while. Everyone could feel good and victimized. But eventually, Trump would just leave; hopefully, he would know to do this on his own. And everyone could then just get on with their lives.”
Yet, Ryan seems to be the one in need of getting on with his life. Trump previously called out the former congressman, who currently sits on the board of Fox News’ parent company, as a “pathetic loser” for his favorability toward the president’s second impeachment.
“Did anyone notice that Fox News went lame (bad!) when weak RINO Paul Ryan, who is despised in the Great State of Wisconsin for being ‘a pathetic loser,’ went on the Fox Board. They won’t even talk about an obviously Rigged 2020 Presidential Election, not even a mention,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“Elections have consequences,” the president added before calling for Ryan to be ousted. On that point he was absolutely correct as Ryan and Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) have both shown themselves to be middling, establishment swamp creatures since their failed run at the White House in the 2012 presidential election.
So, while Leibovich went on MSNBC’s “Meet the Press” and spoke about “the Republican MO in dealing with Donald Trump [being] fecklessness,” it is clear he was talking about the Republicans in name only. Their behavior of kowtowing to the Democrats and seeking compromise that only ever meant losses for conservatives led to prevalence of members like Reps. Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) who truly fit in better with the left.
Unfortunately for them, there is no warm welcome waiting on the other side of the aisle as their zealotry maintains Ryan and his RINO allies to be complicit, no matter how many sob stories they tell.
Warning: Language
Paul Ryan is part of the problem.

Paul Ryan can go fuck himself. No one buys his phony tears since he’s on the Fox News board.

Paul Ryan can fuck all the way off.
It’s because of greedy pathetic bootlicking cowards like him that Donald Trump got elected in the first place.
He knew Trump was an unqualified fascist moron, but he kept his mouth shut and toed the line to get his judges & tax cuts.
