Joe Rogan: ‘It was Fox News that f*****g had my back’ through the ‘crazy’ left’s backlash

Podcaster Joe Rogan said Tuesday that Fox News was the only network that had his back when he contracted COVID-19 and was accused by several mainstream outlets of spreading misinformation when he revealed that Ivermectin was one of many treatments he had used in his speedy recovery from the effects of the virus.

**Language Warning**

Speaking with comedian Fahim Anwar on Tuesday’s edition of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” the actor and mixed martial arts commentator observed, “Who would’ve thought that if you look back on the early days, we used to think of as conservative versus liberal; liberal was pro-free speech.”

He continued, “People were open-minded, non-violent, you know, and people were open to other people’s ideas. And the Right was like suppressive, you know, nanny state, condemn certain language, condemn certain behaviors. That’s not the case today. Today the left has gone so f*****g far left.”

“So radical that the Right are the ones that are celebrating comedians and celebrating [Dave] Chappelle,” Rogan added.

“Yeah!” Anwar concurred.

“They had my back through all the crazy sh*t that happened with me. It was Fox News that f*****g had my back,” Rogan said. [emphasis added]

“Would you ever think that they would be the ones to cape for you? Like, you know, 10 years ago?” Anwar asked.

“I’m so liberal. Like I talk about it all the time. Like I am not a conservative, I’m not conservative, but I am pro-Second Amendment and I am a hunter and I am a cage fighting commentator and I drink and I smoke cigars and I like to bow hunt,” Rogan said. “There’s a lot in there that’s like – ”

“There’s some crossover,” Anwar interjected.

“But it’s just being a human,” Rogan explained. “I’m a compassionate person.”

In January, the outspoken Rogan was embroiled in a short-lived controversy when musical artists Neil Young and Joni Mitchell demanded that Spotify remove his immensely popular podcast, the rights to which they had recently acquired for $100 million.

When they refused, Young and Mitchell voluntarily pulled their respective catalogs from the streaming service.

In September of 2021, Rogan contemplated suing CNN for their dissemination of actual misinformation when they falsely accused him of taking the horse de-worming version of Ivermectin and advising his listeners to do the same, BPR reported.

“They’re making sh*t up. They keep saying I’m taking horse dewormer. I literally got it from a doctor,” he said. “It’s an American company. They won the Nobel prize in 2015 for use in human beings. And CNN is saying I’m taking horse dewormer. They must know that’s a lie.”

“I got back from the road Saturday night, feeling very weary, I had a headache, and I just felt, just run down,” Rogan said at the time. “Just to be cautious, I separated from my family, slept in a different part of the house, and throughout the night I got fevers and sweats and I knew what was going on.”

“So we immediately threw the kitchen sink at it. All kinds of meds. Monoclonal antibodies, ivermectin, Z-Pak, Prednisone, everything. And I also got an NAD drip and a vitamin drip, and I did that three days in a row,” he explained. “And so here we are on Wednesday and I feel great. I really only had one bad day. Sunday sucked, but Monday was better. Tuesday felt better than Monday, and today I feel good. I actually feel pretty f**king good.”

CNN medical analyst Dr. Jonathan Reiner said at the time that Rogan “should have more sense after encountering the disease … He’s not helping matters when he promotes this sort of nonsense therapeutic mix.”

“What they didn’t highlight is that I got better,” Rogan said. “They tried to make it seem as if, like, I’m doing some wacky sh*t that’s completely ineffective. CNN was saying I’m a ‘distributor of misinformation.’”
