Will Jen Psaki cry for us over that Texas National Guard?

President Joe Biden and his administration have remained mum since a Texas Army National Guard soldier was first reported missing, and now many are calling out the disconnect between leadership and the concerns of Americans as one pundit wondered of White House press secretary Jen Psaki, “will she cry for us?”

Reports broke Friday morning that a 22-year-old service member with the Texas National Guard had entered the Rio Grande in an effort to save a migrant woman who appeared in distress as she crossed the waterway. Maverick County Sheriff Tom Schmerber told the Daily Mail, “He dove in to get her, and he never came back up. That area of the river is very dangerous this time of year. Very strong tides and currents. He did not resurface.”

While the Texas Military Department had announced that the soldier, who was acting on behalf of Governor Greg Abbott’s (R-TX) Operation Lone Star, was being searched for, an update to their report indicated they had to delay that effort.

“The search for our missing National Guard Soldier continues,” the update said. “The Texas Rangers have taken the lead on investigating the incident, and we are thankful for their support as well as the continued support of the Texas Department of Public Safety, Parks and Wildlife and the Border Patrol.”

“Unfortunately, the strength of the river’s current has forced the Search and Rescue Teams to cease dive operations. We are hopeful that they will resume tomorrow. We will continue the search for our Soldier until we have exhausted all possible resources. We are in the process of notifying the next of kin regarding the missing Soldier.”

They had also made note of the fact that it was too early to presume that the soldier had died in his efforts to save the migrant whom Schmerber indicated, “successfully made it to the US side of the river herself, where she was taken into Border Patrol custody.”

In a conversation with fill-in host, Pete Hegseth on Friday’s episode of “Hannity,” Kellyanne Conway, Clay Travis, and Charlie Hurt discussed the terrible decision-making by Biden who had spent the day promoting green initiatives for Earth Day and evidently made no mention of the potential loss of life of a military service member.

Hegseth asked Hurt if this was a question of incompetence or blinding ideology to which the contributor replied, “I think they’re completely seized by this ideological craziness and they can’t see anything else.”

“My one question is this: This week we saw Jen Psaki burst into tears talking about that law in Florida, to stop people from teaching kindergartners about transsexualism,” he added. “Will she cry for us over that Texas National Guard? That’s what I want to know.”

Psaki had lamented, “kids who are bullied, and all these leaders are taking steps to hurt them, and hurt their lives and hurt their families!” over Florida’s Parental Rights in Education law. Hurt is apt to predict potential hypocrisy on the part of Psaki should she not weep over the possible death of the National Guard soldier. The Constitution protects states’ rights to govern free of federal overreach, but the border is a national issue that has continued to remain unaddressed by the president.

Eagles Pass Mayor Rolando Salinas told the Washington Post, “It’s just so many people crossing, many are holding kids and older ladies are crossing and we don’t know if they can even swim. Most times people cross when the water is low, but in Spanish, we call it the Rio Bravo because it’s really unpredictable.”

Dennis Smith, Del Rio Sector Border Patrol spokesman, added to the Post, “Agents acted quickly and deployed flotation devices and rescue ropes. The boat unit made multiple trips to the boat ramp, ferrying the subjects to safety.”

The Mail reported that border officials have reported more than a million incidents with migrants since October 1, 2021, and the ending of Title 42 could bring about as many as half a million migrants per month which Border Patrol does not have the means to address.
