Reality television star and Fox News contributor Caitlyn Jenner spoke about her run to unseat Governor Gavin Newsom along with other issues including the crisis at the border as well as the left’s stranglehold on California politics.
In an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail, the former Olympic hero broke down the unfavorable climate for Republicans in the Golden State which is dominated by Democrats in what is effectively a one-party dictatorship.
“California is nothing but a scam,” she said.
According to Jenner, she now regrets throwing her hat in the ring in last year’s special recall election, one that failed to dislodge Newsom despite his tyrannical COVID restrictions as well as the ongoing deterioration of the state which continues to be plagued by homelessness, poverty and rampant crime that has transformed what were once some of America’s most scenic cities into dystopian hellholes reminiscent of third world countries.
Jenner was one of a massive field of 46 candidates on the ballot vying to replace Newsom who easily survived the recall and will face another challenge in the state’s regular gubernatorial contest later this year, but she isn’t looking to be one of his challengers.
“To be honest with you, after it was all over with, it was not me,” the 72-year-old told the Daily Mail. “We put a lot of time and energy and money and all that stuff into it.”
“I feel sorry for the people of California because the scam continues” she added. “California is nothing but a scam and California deserves better. And we’re not going to get it.
“The Democrats and the left have such a stronghold on politics right now that it’s not even worth running,” Jenner said. “They just go out and try to destroy you and do everything they want. It’s a scam.”
She also said of the crisis at the southern border which continues to worsen under the Biden administration, “To see how quickly – not in even two years, a year and a half – our country’s getting destroyed with millions of people coming across the border.”
“Fentanyl deaths, drugs coming across… I don’t like what’s going on and I think all citizens should stand up,” she continued, “That’s one of the reasons why I ran for governor because I want to bring attention to the problems that we’re having.”
Jenner ended up with only 75,215 votes in the recall election, coming in 13th, a disappointing finish for such a high-profile candidate.
She also talked about her new gig with Fox News.
“I’ve been doing a lot of stuff with Fox News over the last few years,’ Jenner said. “And eventually it got to the point where I said, ‘Guys, maybe it’s time to do something more official.”
“And they agreed and we worked out a deal,” she said. “So, I think it’s going to be very good. It gives me a very good platform. I have always been on the conservative, obviously the Republican side, but the conservative side with less taxes, less regulations, pro-business environment.”
After being hired, Jenner received high praise from Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott.
“Caitlyn’s story is an inspiration to us all,” she said. “She is a trailblazer in the LGBTQ+ community and her illustrious career spans a variety of fields that will be a tremendous asset for our audience.”
