The political left has been at war with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis after he defied “woke” corporate behemoth Disney by signing a new parental rights bill into law, and now he is taking friendly fire from another GOP governor.
On Sunday, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan appeared on CNN where he denounced his Sunshine State counterpart, parroting Democrat talking points about the so-called “Don’t Say Gay” bill during an appearance on “State Of The Union” with host Dana Bash.
Hogan, a man who holds White House aspirations as a RINO alternative to former President Donald J. Trump, is beloved by a media which regularly swoons over him despite the fact that has the proverbial snowball’s chance in hell of winning his party’s nomination in 2024.
Hogan, whom some have nicknamed “lockdown Larry” for his draconian COVID restriction measures that were practically indistinguishable from those in Democrat states, was warmly welcomed by Bash and after chatting with the host about Ukraine and Trump’s “missing” phone logs, the topic turned to DeSantis.
“Your fellow Republican governor, DeSantis in Florida, he suggested that he will retaliate against Disney after it criticized Florida’s so-called “don’t say gay” bill which bans certain instruction about sexual orientation and gender identity in the classroom,” asked Bash. “What’s your reaction to that and then more broadly, what do you make of that legislation?”
“Well, I didn’t really actually see the details of the legislation,” Hogan replied, admitting that he had not read HB-1557, the “Parental Rights in Education” bill which was signed by DeSantis last week, “but the whole thing seems just like a, you know, just a crazy fight.”
“I’m not sure it concerns me,” he continued, “DeSantis is always talking about, uh, you know he was not demanding businesses do things but he was telling the cruise lines what they had to do, he was telling the schools what they… mandating, and now he wants to criticize Disney for expressing you know, how they feel about that bill.”
“They have every right to, expressing how they feel about that bill, they have every right to, we have a thing called freedom of speech and can come out and say what they think,” he said as he defended the gargantuan entertainment company that has vowed to overturn the bill, canceling democracy in Florida much like the communist Chinese do in Disney’s largest market while they remain tight-lipped about the abominable human rights abuses carried out under the Xi regime.
“I think the bill was kind of absurd, and not something that would have happened in our state,” Hogan said of the legislation that only moments before he disclosed that he had not read.
Leftists and the activist media mistakenly believed that Disney’s clout in Florida could bring DeSantis to heel over the anti-grooming bill but they were sadly mistaken when, like a honey badger, he put the activists in the kingdom of the mouse on warning, suggesting that he could strip the corporation of its special “self-governing” status over its crusade to protect classroom perverts.

If it was up to the media, Hogan would be a slam dunk for the 2024 GOP nomination but alas, the ambitious Maryland governor has no shot in the reality-based world.
