President Joe Biden’s approval numbers are not only plummeting with the country as a whole but a shocking new poll shows that the deeply unpopular leader is also hemorrhaging support with the one demographic that is absolutely critical to Democrats.
According to a new Marquette University Law School poll, Biden’s approval rating among black voters has steadily dropped over the past nine months, a sign that all of the racial pandering from the president and his administration isn’t enough to offset very real problems including staggering crime rates, much of it affecting black communities and skyrocketing inflation,
The survey which was released on Thursday shows a drop of more than 30 percent from the president’s high water mark with blacks last summer in a survey of 1,004 U.S. adults that was conducted from March 14-24.
According to the poll, Biden’s handling of the Ukraine crisis was a “near-even split” but there has been “no rebound in decline of black support.”
Since July 2021, Biden job approval among whites has gone from 50% to 40%. Among Blacks, it has gone from 88% to 56%. Among Hispanics, it’s gone from 56% to 51%. @pollsandvotes points to the decline among Blacks as particularly striking. #mulawpoll

In the newly released poll, the president who has constantly presented himself as a champion for black people has seen erosion from 88 percent favorability last July to 56 percent in March 2022. While he is still much more popular among blacks than whites and Hispanics, the numbers should be very troubling to a party that has long taken the black voter for granted.

“The trend in approval by race and ethnicity since July shows a very substantial decline in approval among Black adults, with smaller but consistent declines among white and Hispanic respondents,” MU Law notes.
The poll also shows voter dissatisfaction with record gas prices that are crushing Americans with only Democrats being suckered that he has nothing to do with the pain at the pump.

The poll notes that opinions on the control that a president has on gas prices have often come down to political partisanship.
“Beliefs about presidential control of gas prices are highly dependent on partisanship and the occupant of the White House.” the report noted. “When this question was asked with a Republican president, in a CBS/New York Times national poll Sept. 9-13, 2005, 42% of Republicans said a president could do a lot about gas prices and 50% said it was beyond his control, while among Democrats 76% said a president could do a lot about gas prices, with 16% saying it was beyond his control.”
Not mentioned are the disastrous effect of Biden’s energy policies since he effectively declared war on the domestic fossil fuel industry on his first day in office by canceling the Keystone XL pipeline. And despite the devastating effects that gas prices are having on American families, he refuses to change his mind, instead suggesting that the solution is to buy electric cars.

If the Marquette Law numbers become a trend in other polls it could be a sign that Biden’s pick of a black woman to fill a Supreme Court seat by immediately eliminating all other applicants from consideration, and the newly signed anti-lynching bill isn’t going to sufficiently energize the traditionally reliable segment of the party’s base who need to fill up their gas tanks, too.
Things have gotten so bad for Biden that even Chuck Todd has been forced to admit that Democrats are going to get “walloped” in the midterms.

If support continues to deteriorate – especially among black voters – then Democrats could see catastrophic losses that would end their dreams of a permanent ruling majority after only two years.
