In yet another one of the silly ultimatums that are regularly tossed about by the haughty Hollywood elite, actor and director Sean Penn is threatening to melt down his Oscar if Ukrainian President  Volodymyr Zelenskyy isn’t invited to appear during this year’s Academy Awards ceremony.

The 61-year-old bad boy made his remarks on Saturday on “CNN Newsroom” when he spoke from Poland with host Jim Acosta. Penn called for a walkout at Sunday’s 94th edition of a ceremony, which has degenerated into an orgy of virtue signaling with political statements from the stars becoming more important that the films and performances that are showcased at the festival of beautiful people congratulating each other.

Buzz had been building that the Ukrainian leader who has been lionized by the American media would appear remotely on the nationally televised event that will take place on Sunday night but Penn who is filming a documentary on the resistance to Vladimir Putin’s invasion of his neighboring country suggested that he has the insider scoop that Zelenskyy’s address may not occur, prompting him to make his remarks.

According to the two-time Oscar winner, “Now it is my understanding that a decision has been made not to do it, that is not me commenting whether or not President Zelenskyy had wanted to.”

“If the academy has elected not to do it, if presenters have elected not to pursue the leadership in Ukraine who are taking bullets and bombs for us along with the Ukrainian children that they are trying to protect, then I think that every single one of those people, and every bit of that decision will be the most obscene moment in all of Hollywood history,” Penn said, “and I hope that’s not what’s happening.”

He continued, “If it turns out to be what’s happening, I would encourage everyone involved to know that though it may be their moment and I understand that, to celebrate their films, it is so much more importantly their moment to shine and to protest and to boycott that Academy Awards, and I myself if it comes back to it, when I return, I will smelt mine in public”

“I pray that’s not what’s happening, I pray there have not been arrogant people who consider themselves representatives of the greater good in my industry, that have not decided to check in with leadership in Ukraine, so I’m just gonna hope that that’s not what’s happened and I hope that everybody walks out if it is.”

Penn wasn’t clear which of his statues he plans to smelt or if both of his Best Actor Oscars will be publicly sacrificed if Zelenskyy doesn’t get the nod to appear.

Zelenskyy “has been in talks with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to make a video appearance during Sunday’s broadcast of the Academy Awards,” according to a report by the New York Post.

“Academy officials still are debating on whether Zelensky will indeed appear briefly on the show, sources said. It’s also not clear if he would appear live or in a taped message. Sources said the debate centers on whether the Oscars should remain apolitical as the Russian invasion of Ukraine rages on,” the outlet reported.

Twitter reacted to Penn’s demands and it wasn’t pretty.

During his long career, Penn has appeared in over 50 films as well as television and, in the 1980s, was regularly featured in tabloid headlines for his marriage to pop icon Madonna, a turbulent relationship that unsurprisingly ended in divorce.

Penn has compiled an extensive body of work with much of it receiving critical acclaim, especially his star turn as slain homosexual activist Harvey Milk which scored him a Best Actor Oscar in 2008. He also brought home the hardware for his 2003 role as the grieving father of a murder victim in director Clint Eastwood’s “Mystic River,” a big-screen adaptation of the best-selling novel by Dennis Lehane.
