After President Joe Biden attempted to compare the Ukrainian refugee crisis impacting neighboring countries like Poland to the ongoing disaster at the U.S.-Mexico border, a former United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) special agent spoke up to set the record straight.
Following his attendance at a NATO summit in Belgium, Biden was visiting Poland where he had the opportunity to speak with some of the refugees fleeing war-torn Ukraine. This gave Biden cause to compare the sudden, albeit devastating, need to stay clear of the invasion from Russia to the never ending flow of migrants at the southern border.
“The fact the you have so many Ukrainians seeking refuge in this country of Poland. We understand that because we have, at our southern border, thousands of people per day literally, not figuratively,” Biden admitted to Polish President Andrzej Duda, “trying to get into the United States.”

Fox News host Dan Bongino invited former DEA special agent Derek Maltz on “Unfiltered” to dismantle that argument. “Did I miss something?” Bongino asked the viewers. “Did [Russian President Vladimir] Putin attack Central and South America.”
“Folks,” he went on, “there’s obviously a lot of differences, including the fentanyl that’s coming across our border in record numbers, surging 130 percent last year.”
Bongino reminded Maltz about the incident where a number of West Point cadets overdosed after they were exposed to fentanyl and the DEA agent explained that the severity of this specific aspect of the border crisis was wide spread.
“First of all, we’re losing 289 Americans a day,” Maltz outlined. “Every five minutes a young kid is dying. CDC has determined it’s the number one cause of death in the age group 18-45. The attorney general in Florida, this week, talked about how it’s devastating the workforce and the future of our country.”
Holding up a sandwich sized plastic bag with a white substance in it, the ex-DEA agent explained, “This is 300 grams of salt. If this was fentanyl it could kill 150,000 Americans.”
Maltz called the crisis a genocide as kids aged 12-18 are “ordering pills, fake pills that are made in labs in Mexico that are not waking up. Their parents are finding them dead in their bedrooms, at their computers, on their social media apps.”
“So the president, the vice president border czar, they’re not even talking about the American problem,” he went on referencing the responsibility that Biden had placed in the hands of Vice President Kamala Harris who, after failing to even visit the southern border, also visited Europe to discuss ways to help secure Ukraine’s border.
Bongino asked for an explanation as to the driving forces behind the fentanyl crisis and Maltz explained that the synthetic substance was highly addictive and incredibly cheap to produce for the multi-billion dollar drug cartel industry. Supplied by China, the suppliers from Mexico go on to provide American youth with products that they believe are prescription pills.
Meanwhile, 11,000 pounds of fentanyl were seized last year alone, and as Maltz detailed, it only requires two milligrams to induce a lethal reaction.
