Activists demand Biden declare climate emergency, end fossil fuel use amid sky high gas prices

As gas prices have barely creeped down from their record setting mark earlier this month, activists marched in Washington D.C. Friday touting every agenda driven talking point to demand a declaration of “climate emergency” that requires the complete end to “all fossil fuel projects.”

Sporting designer sunglasses and their favorite brands of athletic footwear, along with other byproducts of the fossil fuel industry, protestors initially gathered outside the White House where they issued their demands. Later, sporting signs that read “people not profit” and “stop listening to fossil fuels” the activists headed to Capitol Hill to make their voices heard.

One girl, holding a sign that read “reproductive justice is climate justice,” expressed her sincere worry that the world would “shrivel up” before arguing to Fox News Digital that her sign be taken seriously.

Another young woman vocalized her belief that “climate change disproportionately effects certain communities” and that the climate cannot be addressed without “addressing racial justice, social justice and inequity.”

Promoted through the Action Network, a progressive 501(c)(4) platform that partners with groups like the AFL-CIO and Democrats.org to “train and educate progressives about organizing and mobilizing with technology,” the climate strike promotional material listed their agenda as demanding President Joe Biden “end all fossil fuel projects,” “hold polluters accountable,” “ensure a just and immediate transition to renewable energies” and “declare a climate emergency.”

The pamphlet threatened voter support if their demands weren’t met and read, “If President Biden and his party won’t fight for us, why should we fight to re-elect them?”

The current disruption of the oil markets has lead to record high gas prices and a national average sitting about $0.09 below that March 11 peak at $4.24/gallon for regular unleaded according to AAA.

The sustainable energy that these activists are promoting isn’t even enough to make up for the differences the global turmoil is causing. Even Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who has a considerable stake in the promotion of green energy initiatives, is able to see the evidence of this.

This doesn’t even begin to address the fact that the American industry on renewables lags well behind nations like China who also has a near-monopoly on the critical minerals used to create things like batteries to store electricity to run the electric vehicles the administration keeps peddling.

“Politicians need to start listening to the younger generations. This is the planet we have to live with the rest of our lives,” one of the activists reported to Fox News Digital, “and we want them to be long lives.”

Musk has also promoted the use of nuclear energy, often overlooked due to rare incidents, and criticized a recent decision by Germany to shutter some of their nuclear facilities.

“Shutting down nuclear power plants now is crazy,” Musk stated. “Especially in a place where no natural disasters happen…As long as there is no massive risk of natural disasters – which is not the case in Germany – there really is no danger from nuclear power.”

Instead, these activists hold on to their zealotry of the “Green New Deal” which is estimated by some to cost tens of trillions to rework the entire nations infrastructure to support the pipe dream aspiration of zero carbon emissions.
