HBO “Real Time” host Bill Maher tore into the never-ending mask mandates for children in schools during his “Overtime” segment, proclaiming that we are “creating a generation of Howie Mandels” and that masks will be “imprinted” on young children.
Maher’s panel sat down on Friday to discuss the surprisingly successful recall effort in San Francisco that ended with three progressive school board members getting the proverbial boot for prioritizing liberal wokeness over the well-being of their students.
Maher asked Brooke Jenkins, who is the former assistant San Francisco district attorney who is leading the recall effort against liberal DA Chesa Boudin if it was “about time to chuck” mask mandates for children. Jenkins wholeheartedly agreed.
“Having a 5-year-old in school right now, I would like to see them go,” Jenkins asserted.
“They don’t need them,” Maher argued, referring to the masks forced on students. “I mean, kids are the least, least vulnerable. To make these little children into Howie Mandels is what you’re doing.”

The panel laughed at the joke while the audience groaned. Maher, however, was not finished by a long shot and doubled down on his attack on forcing masks on children.
“No, it’s true!” Maher admonished the audience. “You’re creating a generation of Howie Mandels, of little germ-paranoid munchkins. It’s so ridic.”
“It’s a huge chunk of their lives,” CNN analyst John Avlon noted, agreeing with Maher. “I mean, we’ve got young kids-”
“Especially when they’re young,” Maher insisted. “I mean, that’s the first thing they remember and it’s going to get imprinted on them. I mean, kids are gross to begin with, you have to let them be gross. … They need also to get germs in their body!”
“New rule: the next time we have a worldwide #pandemic, we have to come up with a better solution than everyone becomes Howie Mandel."

“Up to a point,” Avlon contended, seemingly arguing over the issue.
“But it’s true!” Maher shot back. “It’s how you get healthy! It’s how you live with … You can’t live in a world by getting rid of all germs or avoiding them! It’s insane!”
Avalon seemed to agree with Maher on that point but then delved into how he believes the whole vaccine debate is “so incredibly dumb” since “we’ve been doing mandatory vaccines in public schools kids forever.” He made his argument by citing the polio vaccine.
“This is not any different, it’s just what we need to deal with,” Avlon aggressively asserted.
“Well, it couldn’t be different if they are less vulnerable to it,” Maher retorted not giving an inch. “Kids are vulnerable to polio. They’re not that vulnerable to this one. That’s been true from the beginning.”
“Of course, anybody can get anything at any time. That’s possible, but we always have to go by the numbers,” Maher stated making his point once again that masks are not the answer for children. A point that many out there agree with despite the politics surrounding the contentious issue.
