Here’s how disgraceful lib media whitewashed, and outright ignored, horrific stabbing of Brianna Kupfer

The liberal corporate media, at least in its initial reporting, stands accused of downplaying the rap sheet of the man whom the LAPD claims allegedly killed a UCLA graduate student.

While working alone in a high-end furniture store, Brianna Kupfer, 24, was tragically stabbed to death by a man who is believed to be homeless (or “unhoused” in the terminology adopted by some on the left).

In another ghastly incident, a 70-year-old emergency room nurse was separately attacked on the street by a homeless man on the same day in Los Angeles and later tragically passed away from her injuries. A suspect is in custody.

After a manhunt and a posting of a $250,000 reward, cops arrested the suspect in the Kupfer case, Shawn Laval Smith, on Wednesday in Pasadena, Cal. at a bus stop there after receiving a tip from someone in the community.

Authorities are holding him subject to $2 million bail.

“The LA Times, in its article, made no mention of Smith’s previous arrests, or the fact he was free during the stabbing on a $1,000 bond related to a Los Angeles County misdemeanor in October 2020,” the Daily Mail claimed.

The Times may have updated its coverage because it does include information on his past brushes with the law, however.

The Daily Mail found other media outlets wanting, too:

ABC News coverage was also scant; the publication acknowledged a ‘violent crime spike’ but did not include background on Smith’s alleged pattern of offending and being released or a photograph of him.

The information was also omitted by NBC News, which instead focused on the fact the suspect was identified and a reward was being offered for his arrest.

CBS, meanwhile, used a photograph of Brianna on their homepage but focused the angle of their story on her text to a friend saying she was getting ‘bad vibes’ from someone in the store on the day she was stabbed

The New York Times, the so-called newspaper of record, has to date apparently not covered the story at all, and CNN published a story that purportedly was not posted to its primary website homepage even though the heinous crime is making national headlines.

George Gascon, a soft-on-crime, George Soros-backed district attorney is compounding the lawlessness in increasingly dystopian Los Angeles. The murder rate in Los Angeles increased about 12 percent in 2021 year over year, which translates to about 400 homicides.

Soros also funded other “progressive” prosecutors around the country, including the newly elected D.A. in Manhattan, New York.

Pundit Larry Elder, who ran in the California gubernatorial recall election, noted that radical Democrat Congresswoman Maxine Waters lives in the upscale Hancock Park area of Los Angeles where the furniture store is located. In reference to Waters, Gascon, and far-left Calif. Gov. Gavin Newsom, he told Fox News that “Maybe now, they will reconsider some of their policies that have imperiled the lives of citizens in L.A. County and in Los Angeles.”

Earlier this week, Brianna’s dad Todd Kupfer spoke with Fox News about the senseless murder of his daughter in an interview that brought “Fox & Friends” co-host Steve Doocy, and perhaps many in the viewing audience, to tears.

With a desire to avoid blaming anyone by name in liberal Los Angeles, Mr. Kupfer implied that politicians have elevated the rights of criminals above law-abiding citizens.

Others on social media are expressing similar thoughts:

Watch a report on the suspect’s arrest from Fox 11 Los Angeles:

All suspects are presumed innocent until or unless they are convicted in a court of law of any alleged crimes.
