Vice President Kamala Harris cemented her criticism of Sens. Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin when she declared she would not “absolve” any lawmakers standing in the way of passing so-called voting rights legislation.

At a Martin Luther King day volunteer event in Washington on Monday, the vice president was asked directly about Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Sinema (D-Ariz.) and their refusal to budge on the filibuster, dooming the chances of Democrats ramming through what they claim is legislation on voting rights.

“The United States Senate has the opportunity and, I daresay, the responsibility to pass these bills through Congress so the president can sign them. And the resistance to doing that will not deter us from our commitment to getting it done,” Harris told reporters.

Asked by one reporter specifically about Manchin and Sinema, Harris was quick with her response.

“As I’ve said before, there are a hundred members of the United States Senate, and I’m not going to absolve — nor should any of us — absolve any member of the United States Senate from taking on a responsibility to follow through on the oath that they all took to support and defend the Constitution of the United States,” she said.

Left-wing The Atlantic whined over the unwavering resistance from the Democrat senators, declaring that a “nationwide standard of voting rights now seems like a pipe dream.”

The vice president’s remarks about the legislation, and her specific jab at resisting senators, sparked many reactions on Twitter:
