Tucker Carlson slams Biden over voter rights speech that ‘berates’ America: ‘It’s still 1951 in Birmingham’

Fox News’ Tucker Carlson offered viewers his impression of the 250-year-old bargain between the American people and its government, describing in his opening monologue on Tuesday’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight” how that contract is collapsing at breakneck speed under the current auspices of Left-wing tyranny.

“Here’s how democracies work: In a democracy, voters strike a highly straightforward deal with a government that rules them. Here’s what it is: Politicians do their best to improve your life. In exchange for that, you vote for them. That is a voluntary arrangement. It works pretty well. For 250 years, that’s how it’s worked here in the United States,” he began.

But under President Joe Biden, Carlson said, such is not the case any longer. Not lost on anyone except the blindly loyal is the manner in which Biden hectors Americans, chastising those who won’t bend the knee to the federal government and the bureaucracies and corporations it carries in its pocket like so many nickels and dimes.

Carlson continued, “In his speeches, you can see clearly how Joe Biden feels about America. He’s deeply disappointed in the country, and he’s annoyed with the people who live here. Biden doesn’t cajole voters. He harangues and berates them. He patronizes them and issues threats. You caused the corona pandemic. You’re stupid and selfish. No Fourth of July hot dogs until you obey.”

In order for Democrats to survive the expected thrashing they will likely suffer in the 2022 midterm elections, a new order of American government must be created, Carlson explained, and their efforts are well underway to do just that.

“One way to do that is by diluting the political power of citizens. And that’s why Democrats in New York are allowing nearly a million foreign nationals here illegally to vote in local elections. It’s why Gavin Newsom has announced that California is now going to offer unlimited health care to illegal aliens so that more of them will come.”

Biden appeared in Atlanta, GA Tuesday for a speech in aid of the Left’s voting rights agenda, and he proceeded to demonstrate his one and only skill: getting angry at Americans.

“It’s also time to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act. I’ve been having these quiet conversations with members of Congress for the last two months. I’m tired of being quiet,” Biden said during his remarks.

The John Lewis Voting Rights Act seeks – among other things – to place elections under federal control. In addition, a state must get approval from the federal government before implementing its own rules and procedures. States would also relinquish their authority to require identification to vote as well as pick their polling sites and define congressional districts.

“Why would you let incumbent politicians rig the game in their own favor?” Carlson asked.

“We would not allow that. You’d have to be bullied into it. How would you be bullied? You know the answer. The fastest way to bully Americans, other than by scaring them with viruses, is to call them racist,” Carlson argued, going on to play another clip of the president.

“Do you want to be the side of John Lewis or Bull Connor? Do you want to be the side of Abraham Lincoln or Jefferson Davis? This is the moment to decide to defend our elections, to defend our democracy,” Biden said.

Again, Mr. Biden, for the ‘-enth time, America is a constitutional republic, not a democracy. And Bull Connor was a Democrat, Lincoln a Republican.

“We must find a way to pass these voting rights bill debate and vote. Let the majority prevail. And if that very amendment is blocked, we have no option but to change the Senate rules, including getting rid of the filibuster for this,” Biden continued in the clip from his speech that Carlson shared.

“I will not yield, I will not flinch, I will defend the right to vote our democracy against all enemies, foreign and, yes, domestic,” he exclaimed.

Carlson concluded, “Enemies within our own country, we will kill them. It’s kind of amusing to see Joe Biden call other people extremists. The message: Give me total power over your life or else I know you’re a dangerous radical. It’s pretty funny, but it’s also not funny.”
