VP Harris breaks with Biden on COVID blame

Vice President Kamala Harris broke with her boss when she surprisingly declined to blame the COVID pandemic on the unvaccinated but she also failed to acknowledge the role of China in unleashing the virus on the world, a position that is seemingly held by the vast majority of the Democratic Party.

During a CBS interview that aired on Monday, Harris urged Americans to get jabbed but when asked by host Norah O’Donnell, she refrained to scapegoat those who remain vaccine-hesitant, a stark contrast with the angry approach of President Joe Biden who has repeatedly used the bully pulpit to attack tens of millions of Americans.

When asked by O’Donnell whether the Christmas COVID hysteria that was kickstarted by Omicron was the fault of the unvaccinated, Harris took the high road.

“I don’t think this is a moment to talk about fault,” Harris said, “It is no one’s fault that this virus hit our shores or hit the world, but it is more about individual power and responsibility and it’s about the decisions that everyone has a choice to make, no doubt.”

Biden and many in the leftist media which run cover for him and appear to have little interest in seeing the end of COVID – first and foremost because of the political power that is derived from an ongoing state of emergency – have constantly demonized the unvaccinated with talking heads calling for their ostracism from society, an idea that has taken hold in Democrat-controlled areas which are imposing harsh restrictions that turn the vaccine-hesitant into second class citizens.

The man who falsely passed himself off as a moderate who preached unity on the campaign trail angrily lashed out during a September address when Biden called the inability to contain the spread as a “pandemic of the unvaccinated.” He also angrily lectured the vaccine-hesitant that “our patience is wearing thin” and is seeking to force holdouts to be jabbed with his employer vaccine mandates which are headed to the Supreme Court.

The difference between Biden and Harris may only be a classic example of good cop, bad cop but one area where they are in lockstep is their running interference for China, the country of origin for COVID which is widely believed to have escaped from a Wuhan lab where dangerous “gain of function” experiments were being conducted.

Some took to Twitter to point out the obvious.

One user wrote, “It’s fascinating to me that Covid has killed over 5 million people worldwide, and 800,000 in the US, we’re contemplating more lockdowns two years in, and yet it seems that no systematic effort has been made to find out what actually happened in China and do something about it.”

In another tweet, the same user noted that even if the wet market theory were correct, that it does nothing to change the fact that the virus originated in the totalitarian communist nation.

Other reactions to Harris’ CBS interview:

Biden has upped the ante against the holdouts with predictions of a “winter of death” and also an implied threat that the vaccinated will be protected for doing the “right thing,” leaving open the possibility of government-sanctioned persecution of those who have not obeyed.

Biden will deliver his highly anticipated Omicron address on Tuesday afternoon.
