Albert Watkins, who is the attorney for the “QAnon Shaman,” profanely told reporters on Wednesday that he had a message for former President Trump, outrageously telling him to take care of “the jackasses that you f***ed up because of January 6.”

A judge sentenced Jacob Chansley to 41-months Wednesday after he pleaded guilty to felony obstruction of an official proceeding in connection with the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. A reporter asked Watkins what “appropriate accountability for former President Trump” would look like.

“If you’re asking my opinion, my opinion is meaningless. I will say that I would probably be far more effective over a beer with former President Trump, even if he didn’t have a beer because I understand he doesn’t drink beer, but I’d have a beer,” Watkins remarked.

“And I’d tell him, ‘You know what? You’ve got a few f***ing things to do. Including clearing this f***ing mess up and taking care of a lot of the jackasses that you f***ed up because of January 6.’ In the meantime, I might talk to him about some other things that I’d agree with him on. But my opinion doesn’t mean sh*t,” the potty-mouthed attorney added.

Watkins is known for his colorful language. Many observers wonder if his less-than-stellar defense of Chansley and unprofessional demeanor contributed to his lengthy conviction. In May, he made stunning comments to Talking Points Memo concerning the January 6 defendants, proclaiming they are “all f***ing short-bus people” and that “these are people with brain damage, they’re f***ing retarded, they’re on the goddamn spectrum.”

Chansley’s sentence will be reduced for time served in jail since his arrest. Prosecutors were looking for an even lengthier sentence for the defendant. He originally faced six charges and a maximum of 20 years of imprisonment for his actions. Prosecutors agreed to drop the remaining charges.

Speaking outside the court on Wednesday after the sentencing, Watkins took exception to his client being called an “insurrectionist” with more bizarre statements.

“An insurrectionist? Look up the word. Are you gonna follow the guy who’s naked, tattooed, nipples, January, DC, hours outside, with horns, facepaint, and fur and say ‘yeah, that’s the guy I want, I’m following him’ – unless you are smoking crack, which you know is not bad on occasion.”

In court, Chansley said that he had “no excuse” for entering the Capitol Building and had been asking himself, “What would Jesus do?” He also strangely compared himself to Mahatma Gandhi by saying, “What if we all judge Gandhi based on that he beat his wife before his spiritual awakening?” He has since reportedly disavowed QAnon and former President Trump.

The ‘QAnon Shaman’ is probably the most iconic face of the Jan. 6 riot. It is small wonder that the government wanted to make an example of him during sentencing. His attorney’s statements likely did not help when it came to his sentencing.

Chansley is joined by roughly 650 people who are facing federal charges for taking part in the Capitol Hill riot that day.

Social media melted down with reaction to the flamboyant attorney’s comments:
