‘USA, USA!’ Thousands of NYC workers flood streets to protest de Blasio’s vax mandate

City workers took to the streets on Monday to protest Mayor Bill de Blasio’s mandate that all New York City municipal workers get vaccinated or be financially punished until they submit.

Last week, de Blasio announced that the workers must provide proof that they have received at least one shot of the coronavirus vaccine or be placed on unpaid leave, a bonus of $500 was offered as a sweetener to encourage compliance, the “generous” offer expires at 5 pm on Friday, October 29.

“There is no greater privilege than serving the people of New York City, and that privilege comes with a responsibility to keep yourself and your community safe,” said de Blasio as he attempted to shame city workers into compliance before the order goes into effect on November 1.

Thousands turned out in response to Hizzhoner’s decree and the protesters sent a message to their lame-duck mayor that there will be resistance to his tyranny as they carried American flags and marched across the Brooklyn Bridge, engaging in chants of “USA, USA” in a show of defiance.

The protestors also chanted “F*** Joe Biden” and “F*** de Blasio”

Others joined in the popular refrain of “Let’s go Brandon,” a more family-friendly way of saying “F*** Joe Biden” as well as a skewering of the regime’s media propagandists.

Protests also took place outside of City Hall where protesters waved flags and chanted, “Save New York.”

Firefighter Sofia Medina expressed anger that “working after countless of emergencies — Hurricane Sandy, the snowstorms … I am under threat. We are under threat of losing our livelihood for simply retaining the choice of protecting our bodies,” the New York Post reported.

Additional video footage from the demonstrations was shared on Twitter.

The disgraceful treatment of city workers continues under de Blasio, especially for the police who have been demonized and humiliated by top officials of the Democrat-controlled city since last summer’s mayhem when looting and violent riots erupted following the death of George Floyd.

Adding insult to injury, de Blasio put the burden of ending the pandemic on the city workers last week.

“We have led the way against COVID-19 – from fighting for the right to vaccinate frontline workers, to providing nation-leading incentives, to creating the Key to NYC mandate. As we continue our recovery for all of us, city workers have been a daily inspiration. Now is the time for them to show their city the path out of this pandemic once and for all,” he said.

Whether Mayor de Blasio will blink between now and Monday, if thousands of workers tell him to shove his mandate, remains to be seen but the loss of first responders and other critical workers will be a grave disservice to residents of the Big Apple who have already suffered greatly under his dismal tenure.
